The ERASMUS+ programme is the largest Education Mobility Programme in the world. Promoted by the European Union and managed in Portugal by the ERASMUS+ National Agency, its main goals are, in the words of its promoters:
- To reduce unemployment, especially among the young
- To promote adult education, especially regarding the acquisition of new competences and competences required by the labour market
- To promote youth participation in European democracy
- To support innovation, cooperation and reforms
- To reduce school dropout
- To promote mobility and cooperation with partner countries from the EU

Who can participate and apply?
- All the students from Partner Universities, nominated by their Sending Institution can participate in mobility to study at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes.
- Students must handle the selection process with the services of their universities.
- The Sending University handles the official nomination of the student and sends this information to Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes by email.
How can you apply?
An official nomination does not mean that the student was accepted. All the candidates for the mobility programme at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes must wait for an email with information on the next steps. After they have received this email, they must complete the application procedures and await confirmation of acceptance. No nominations or applications will be accepted after the deadlines.
Necessary documents
To submit your application, you must gather the required documents and take the following steps:
- Submit the application.
- Collect and upload the following documents:
- Copy of the Identification Document or Passport;
- Learning Agreement – Signed and stamped by the Sending Institution;
- Academic Transcript;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Portfolio (available online)
Mandatory only for application for the following programmes: Film; Communication Design and Architecture.
After the application has been accepted
An official acceptance letter will be issued and sent by email both to the student and to the Sending Institution. After receiving the email with the acceptance letter, the student must submit all the documents listed below.
- English Language Certificate (B1)
- Medical report filled out and stamped by the family doctor);
- Copy of the health insurance policy of the Sending Institution or private insurance policy;
- Copy of the student’s European Health Card;
