The ERASMUS+ programme is the largest Education Mobility Programme in the world. Promoted by the European Union and managed in Portugal by the ERASMUS+ National Agency, its main goals are, in the words of its promoters:

Who can participate and apply?

  • All the students from Partner Universities, nominated by their Sending Institution can participate in mobility to study at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes.
  • Students must handle the selection process with the services of their universities.
  • The Sending University handles the official nomination of the student and sends this information to Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes by .

How can you apply?

An official nomination does not mean that the student was accepted. All the candidates for the mobility programme at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes must wait for an email with information on the next steps. After they have received this email, they must complete the application procedures and await confirmation of acceptance. No nominations or applications will be accepted after the deadlines.

Necessary documents

To submit your application, you must gather the required documents and take the following steps:

  • Submit the .
  • Collect and upload the following documents:
    • Copy of the Identification Document or Passport;
    • Learning Agreement – Signed and stamped by the Sending Institution;
    • Academic Transcript;
    • Curriculum Vitae;
    • Portfolio (available online)
      Mandatory only for application for the following programmes: Film; Communication Design and Architecture.

After the application has been accepted

An official acceptance letter will be issued and sent by both to the student and to the Sending Institution. After receiving the email with the acceptance letter, the student must submit all the documents listed below.

  • English Language Certificate (B1)
  • Medical report filled out and stamped by the family doctor);
  • Copy of the health insurance policy of the Sending Institution or private insurance policy;
  • Copy of the student’s European Health Card;

NB: All the required documents listed are mandatory and are part of the application and enrolment procedure.

Overseas Programme

The Overseas Programme is a mobility programme between higher education institutions outside the European space. The Programme is based on bilateral cooperation and is settled and defined by means of a Cooperation Protocol.

Who can participate and apply?

All the students of Partner Universities selected and nominated in their Sending Institution can apply for study mobility at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes. The students must handle the nomination process with their university’s services. The sending Institution handles the official nomination of the students and send this information to Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes by .

After the application has been accepted

After receiving an email with the acceptance letter, the student must all the documents listed below.

Documents required for enrolment:

  • English Language Certificate (B1) showing International Certification - TOEFL, ESOL, IELTS or OLS Exam (when not originating from a Portuguese-speaking country);
  • Medical Report (filled out and stamped by the family doctor);
  • Copy of the health insurance policy of the Sending Institution or private insurance policy;

ISEP Programme

The ISEP Programme enables students from partner Universities all over the world to carry out a mobility period at Ensino Lusófona Universities and Institutes.

Who can participate and apply?

All the students duly enrolled in a degree-awarding study programme – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Cycle – can participate in the ISEP Programme.

How can you apply?

The ISEP Programme involves two applications:

  • Interested students must start by submitting their application at: ISEP
  • Once the applications have been accepted and nominated by the ISEP Programme, students will receive an email with information on the next steps, namely:

    2. Collect and upload the following documents:
      • Copy of the Identification Document or Passport
      • Learning Agreement – Signed and stamped by the Sending Institution
      • Academic transcript

Deadlines for Incoming Nomination and Application

The application period for Erasmus+ mobility takes place according to the following stages:

1st semester

  • Student nomination: by 30 April.
  • Submission of application: by 31 May.
  • Approval by mobility coordinator: by 30 June.
  • Sending of acceptance letters: by 15 July.

2nd semester

  • Student nomination: by 30 September.
  • Submission of application: by 31 October.
  • Approval by mobility coordinator: by 30 November.
  • Sending of acceptance letters: by 15 December.

Applications Deadlines
