Erasmus Policy Statement (ECHE 2021–2027)
Lusófona University considers internationalisation a central pillar of its institutional mission and long-term development, as defined in its Strategic Plan. The University aims to strengthen its international profile, respond proactively to complex and evolving societal challenges, and contribute to sustainable development through high-quality education, research and innovation. Participation in the Erasmus+ Programme is a key instrument for achieving these strategic objectives.
Through Erasmus+, Lusófona University promotes academic mobility, transnational cooperation, pedagogical innovation and institutional modernisation. The programme is embedded in the University’s internationalisation strategy and supports the development of globally competent graduates, internationally connected researchers and highly skilled staff.
International cooperation and European engagement
Lusófona University is committed to strengthening structured international partnerships and active participation in European higher education networks. In particular, the University contributes to the development of the European Education Area through its involvement in collaborative initiatives such as the FilmEU – European University alliance, which promotes joint curricula, interdisciplinary education, mobility pathways and research and innovation collaboration in the fields of film, media arts and creative industries. Participation in Erasmus+ reinforces these multilateral cooperation frameworks and supports long-term institutional integration at European level.
Quality of education, innovation and research excellence
The University integrates international mobility and cooperation into curriculum development, teaching methodologies and research activities. Erasmus+ supports the continuous improvement of academic quality, the exchange of innovative pedagogical practices and the development of joint educational and research initiatives.
Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening collaboration in strategic scientific domains aligned with institutional priorities, including audiovisual and creative media, communication sciences, digital technologies, business and management, psychology, health sciences, architecture and urban studies, sustainability studies and interdisciplinary research addressing societal transformation.
